E-commerce webshop in Shopify

When I was studying for my master’s degree in Web Communications Design, I decided to start my own small company to sell artwork I had created mainly in Procreate and Illustrator. To practice the skills I learned during my courses in my master’s degree (HTML, CSS, SEO etc.), I decided to create a webshop. I have made many basic websites in HTML and CSS since I was a kid, but this time, I had bigger plans.

The first iteration of my webshop was purely made in HTML and CSS with an integration from another website (Ecwid) where I integrated my listings from the other site into my HTML code. Since this limited the design choices a lot, I decided to move to Shopify’s CMS to create a more cohesive webshop experience. By this time, the courses of my master’s degree were more UX-focused, and I wanted to take the opportunity to make my webshop even better with user-centered design. Thus I have had many iterations of my webshop since it started in 2021.
